Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test electrical control systems and hardware.
- Contribute to the creation of wiring harnesses, schematic designs, and control systems.
- Work with Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Power Electronics and traction battery systems.
- Collaborate on projects related to chassis powertrain and driveline systems.
- Perform system diagnostics and testing to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Work with electrical design software, including 2D CAD tools, to generate detailed designs and schematics.
- Produce parts listings, BOMs, and maintain accurate records in line with engineering standards.
- Education:
- HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent).
- Experience:
- Proven experience in a relevant engineering environment.
- Experience in commissioning and testing electrical control systems.
- Specialist Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient computer skills, with experience in dedicated electrical design software (e.g., 2D CAD).
- Knowledge of electrical control systems hardware design and vehicle control system diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with coding/classification systems, parts listings, and BOMs.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- BEng or MEng degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience:
- Knowledge of wiring harness design and manufacture.
- Experience with electric and hybrid vehicle power electronics, control systems, and traction battery systems.
- Highly motivated with a positive attitude and a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Creative, innovative, and analytical mindset.
- Ability to maintain detailed records and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing demands of the role and projects.
