We are seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to take ownership of high-profile aerospace/military projects, leading the development of next-generation hydraulic components for both commercial and military aircraft.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a technically challenging environment where leadership, collaboration, and technical excellence are paramount. As a senior figure within the team, you will be instrumental in shaping development strategies, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring the successful execution of critical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Risk Management: Lead and oversee FMEAs and risk mitigation strategies, ensuring robust and effective engineering solutions are implemented.
  • Advanced Tooling & Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to drive tooling development and procurement, optimizing processes for efficiency and quality.
  • Technical Leadership & Documentation: Develop, review, and refine assembly instructions, production worksheets, and qualification reports, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry regulations.
  • Analytical Performance Assessment: Conduct in-depth performance calculations and lead hydraulic testing, leveraging expertise in Mathcad Prime and other analytical tools.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Act as a key technical liaison across departments, ensuring seamless collaboration between design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams.
  • Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For:
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems, with a strong grasp of electrical theory and the ability to interpret complex technical drawings.
  • Strategic Problem-Solving: Proven ability to perform high-level FMEAs, develop sophisticated risk mitigation strategies, and lead design reviews with a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Advanced Documentation & Reporting: Demonstrated proficiency in authoring technical reports (e.g., Similarity & Analysis reports, Development Test reports) and creating detailed assembly instructions.
  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level competency in Microsoft Word, Mathcad Prime (including worksheet conversion from Mathcad 15 to Prime), and other engineering analysis tools.
  • Influential Communication: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, drive project alignment, and influence decision-making.
