Context and Summary
The Programme Planning Lead will be responsible for leading planning activities, creating and maintaining bid and project programmes.
Main Responsibilities
- To lead planning activities within the assigned programme team, through bid and project lifecycles in association with the Programme Services Procedure and Programme Controls Procedure
- To work closely with the Bid Manager, Programme Manager, and delivery function leads to ensure the timely production of programmes and plans required to support bid submissions
- To work closely with the Programme Manager, Project Managers, and delivery function leads to establish and maintain contract delivery programmes and plans as required to satisfy our contractual obligations
- Effective coordination of; internal divisions and functions, subcontractors and all required stakeholders in relation to the development and management of contract delivery and bid programmes
- To provide support to project delivery teams and stakeholders in ensuring that issues within the contract delivery programme are pro-actively highlighted, understood and solutions are identified
- To produce reports and dashboards as required to effectively communicate programme compliance and status to Hitachi and external stakeholders
- To establishing programme baselines and thereafter evaluating the potential effect of risks and changes
- To support the Programme Planning Lead in the preparation and maintenance of resource and capacity forecasts and programmes across the scope of responsibilities for the Projects team
Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Key Skills & Experience - Essential Requirements
- Formal Primavera P6 training foundation and advanced level.
- Experienced and skilled in the use of Primavera P6 to develop, change and integrate complex project schedules into an integrated plan using Critical Path Analysis in a technical environment
- Self-starter with ability to develop strong, constructive and focused relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organisation levels
- Proven ability to work successfully in a multi-disciplinary team and demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analysing and providing innovative solutions to planning, scheduling and performance reporting problems.
- Experience and evidence of successful conflict resolution.
- Experience and evidence of working with major sub-contractors.
- Experience coaching and mentoring team members.
- Experienced in de-escalating high pressure situations.
- Flexibility to travel around Company locations as required, potentially including international locations
- Able to represent the Company in a professional manner at all times
- Formal project management training
Desirable Requirements
- Formal Primavera Risk Analysis training or other QSRA tools
- Experienced and skilled in the use of Acumen Fuse or other quantitative risk analysis tools to conduct detailed schedule risk reviews
- Bi or multi-lingual – English/Japanese/Italian
- Project delivery experience, within the UK railway industry.
- Experience in use of Power Bi, development of Macros and Visual Basics to manage large volumes of data
