Are you a multiskilled maintenance technician looking for a new position?
If so, TXM Recruit are working in partnership with a high-profile railway client. They are expanding their projects and are looking for multiple Multiskilled Technicians to join their team located in the East Midlands on a contract basis. The role is paying £19.46 per hour.
About the role
As a technician you will be part of the maintenance team working towards set production targets to ensure trains meet ever exacting and challenging standards, ensuring they are delivered to customers on time and safely.
In this role, you will:
- Service, maintain, repair and overhaul traction and rolling stock components and complete plant equipment inspection
- Ensure that both individual and team production targets are met
- Carry out all work to agreed standards, ensuring that all work undertaken is recorded and signed off on the prescribed documentation
- Perform fault finding on rolling stock as directed by Team Leader
- Support and give guidance to all members of the team
- Practical experience of mechanical and electrical engineering within a busy and quality focused environment
- Qualified to NVQ Level 3 standard in a relevant mechanical/electrical (or dual-skilled) engineering or maintenance discipline (e.g. Traction and Rolling Stock) or have completed a recognised apprenticeship.
- Ideally, will bring knowledge of ISO 9002 and ISO 14001 and have knowledge or experience of railway industry recognised standards.
- Live within 60 minutes’ travelling time of the depot (safety critical element) or be prepared to re-locate if they are offered the role.
Main Details:
Job Title: Multiskilled Technician (Mechanical/Electrical)
Salary: £19.46 per hour or circa £37,000 per annum.
Contract: 24th February to 31st December 2025 (10 Months)
Hours of Work: 39 hours per week on 4 days a week rota basis.
Location: East Midlands
Shortlisted candidates will be required to pass a verbal reasoning assessment and safety critical medical before an offer can be made.
