Job description
- Work on a range of health and safety topics across the depots including COSHH, manual handling, DSEAR, risk assessments etc. Provide support and guidance to all depots
- Write, review, and provide input to a HSEQ policies, procedures, and other documentation such as controlled forms
- Write, review, provide input to risk assessment / working instruction production – liaise with / support relevant colleagues
- Provide key health and safety knowledge to all employees / departments
- Support the HSE champions
- Contribute to the upkeep of the DAPs
- Attend and contribute to HSEQ team meetings
- To support the continual development of the IMS
- Support legionella management
- Support the whole HSEQ function (including the HSEQ system analyst function) – be able to flex between roles where required
- Support in the development of the digitisation of HSEQ forms / processes
- Attend and contribute to project meetings where required
- Visit ATC depots on a regular basis to provide support and guidance
- Perform internal HSEQ audits / inspections / depot tours & support external audits
- Update various trackers where necessary (including but not limited to CAPA, HAZID logs etc)
- Support accident and incident investigation
- Liaise with external health, safely or environmental related contractors where necessary
- Use Sypol for COSHH management
Qualifications & requirements
- Health and safety - NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
- Safety and environmental legal knowledge
- NEBOSH Environmental certificate or equivalent
- Experience with / trained to internal auditor for ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001, RM3
- Cultural improvement experience
- Risk assessment experience
- COSHH experience
- Legionella management experience
- Experience handling accident and incident investigation
- A full and valid driving licence is essential
- Be prepared to travel to other rail depots throughout the country with the occasional over night stay (where required)
- Knowledge and experience of fire risk assessments desirable
- Knowledge and experience of the rail industry desirable but not essential
- Strong influencing and coaching skills
