TXM Recruit continues to support clients and contractors within the rail industry, placing the safety of its workforce first.
Following stricter safety measures to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, rail workers are one of the core sectors that have continued to operate across the UK during the lockdown. Although ‘business as usual’ applies for many keyworkers, individuals within the rail industry are expected to follow extra safety precautions including social distancing and wearing PPE.
TXM Recruit has been working closely with Engie placing contractors within transport networks such as the London Underground to hospitals and public buildings. To ensure candidates are placed within a safe working environment and can carry on with their day-to-day duties to meet client expectations, TXM Recruit launched a COVID-19 Support Hub, providing useful resources for clients and contractors as well as providing guidance on keyworker testing and supplying hand sanitisers to their entire workforce.
James Wall, Managing Director at TXM Recruit comments: “Both Engie and TXM Recruit place the health and safety of our workers as a top priority. We’ve been keeping contractors informed by arranging weekly workforce communications, setting up WhatsApp groups, encouraging self-isolation and creating a return to work process.”
Ken Drysdale, a Multiskilled Engineer working at Engie comments: “TXM Recruit have been great throughout the whole Coronavirus situation. Their team have spoken to all of us key workers on a weekly basis and set up WhatsApp groups which I have requested to join so the communication is constant. We have received some really useful guidance and information about remaining safe whilst we continue to work, and they have set up a dedicated COVID-19 page.
“The service I have received from TXM has been great especially issuing hand sanitisers out to the entire workforce last week when supplies were running low. Little things such as this and the weekly calls to me and the entire workforce have made things just that little bit easier, so thank you TXM.”
James Wall concludes: “It has been our top priority to demonstrate and live the very meaning of TXM by ‘Going The Xtra Mile’ for both our workforce and clients. Through collaborative work and communications, our workforce has stated how well they feel supported whilst they carry out crucial work. We’re proud to support many of our clients like Engie in the fantastic work they have been doing throughout the COVID-19 crisis.”
