Your main responsibilities will include:
- Undertaking vehicle failure trend analysis and failure root cause analysis.
- Raising and resolving allocated FRACAS items that are raised in relation to corrective maintenance.
- Integrating, leading and directing reliability engineering initiatives to improve parts availability, manage the obsolescence plan, reduce equipment downtime and reduce cost.
- Assisting with troubleshooting problems, discrepancies and investigations of failure modes and/or non-conformances.
- aManaging trials and testing of new systems and products.
- Developing standard procedures for rectification of common defects.
- Reviewing repeat defects and provide technical support for rectification.
- Developing return to service plans for long-term stopped trams.
- Supporting training and development of technical staff.
- Delivering driver information sessions to provide feedback on recent failures.
- A time served apprenticeship with experience of working in a technical engineering position
- Experience of finding and diagnosing faults in complex mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience of working with rolling stock in a depot environment
- Experience of reliability improvement / maintenance optimisation and / or modifications / engineering change
- Knowledge of rail industry standards
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of leading others
Required Qualifications
- Professional Engineer or equivalent
