Here at TXM Recruit we are looking for Installation Supervisors on a Rail project in Glasgow. 

Pay: £329 umbrella rate. (Inside IR35)
Location: Glasgow.
Duration: 6 Months +
Shifts: Nights Sunday - Thursday

A Site Supervisor, is responsible for managing the workflow of their teams and sub-contractors by assigning tasks, supporting staff, monitoring results and reporting to senior management. They contribute to the efficiency of their project by reviewing and improving processes and setting targets for their teams.
 
Site Supervisors support their teams and assigned sub-contractors, help manage workflow and solve problems. They play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the business, monitor production and identify areas for improvement. Supervisors maintain a working knowledge of relevant regulations and ensure compliance among the teams and sub-contractors they oversee.
 
The Site Supervisor shall report to construction management. Compile data about their allocated team’s and sub-contractors work and feedback about upcoming work packages and changes to processes.
The site supervisor shall line manage their teams and sub-contractors, completing inductions with new staff members including training and briefing on company policies.
 
They monitor individual progress, conduct appraisals and performance reviews and offer support and training to their staff.

Essential.
A successful Site Supervisor candidate will have various prerequisite skills that will make them effective including:
  • Performance management
  • Excellent communication skills, (verbally and written)
  • Quality and Safety assurance
  • Prioritisation and time management skills
  • Knowledge of construction and relevant industry standards
  • Good working knowledge of HSE legislation, key construction and rail industry standards

Key responsibilities are detailed below:
  • Supporting Site Managers and Construction managers with planning works to ensure their task do not conflict with other works.
  • Maintaining safety standards, conducting risk assessments, ensuring staff have adequate first aid and relevant training for the tasks to be undertaken.
  • Enforcing site rules, reporting to and supporting HSQE with any accident / incident investigations Candidates may also need relevant industry certification or training, such as a regulator-approved diploma or completion of sector-specific courses. Training in management, coaching, staff motivation or similar skills is a plus.
  • Have a full driving license that is valid.
  • Educating site supervisors and sub-contractors on the required health and safety requirements, (e.g. project specific and legislative).
  • Ensuring that a suitable site induction is briefed to ALL staff and sub-contractors
  • Managing site accidents/incidents in accordance with established project procedures
  • Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
  • Evaluating the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.
  • Recommending changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
  • Conducting regular worksite inspections to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards and ensure relevant standards are adhered to.
  • Provide on-site supervision of construction/installation activity
  • Managing deliveries or goods and materials required for the works they oversee.
  • Issuing, checking and logging all relevant permits as required for their supervised works
  • Check work is carried out safely and to the appropriate quality as detailed within Work Package Plans and approved designs
  • Complete records for site reports
  • Attend site management meetings

Desirable:
  • CITB SMSTS (Site Managers Safety Training Scheme)
  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate or equivalent.
  • Temporary works Coordinator or  Temporary Works Manager
  • CPCS Lift supervisor or Appointed Person
  • Plant Operators Licence (360, 3CX, telehandler, etc)
  • Additional sentinel qualifications for Network Rail contracts only include ES, SWL1 and/or SWL2, SW, MC/CC, etc.
  • CITB Black CSCS 
Civil Work Site Supervisor
  • Proven experience working as a CW Site Supervisor
  • Sound knowledge of building codes and construction safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of construction tools and equipment
  • Ability to interpret CAD and/or PDF drawings
