We have a great opportunity for a Hospital Porter to work in Portsmouth. The Porter will undertake duties such as:

• Lifting, handling, and transporting patients/visitors in wheelchairs, on stretchers, on beds and walking to all areas as requested.

• Collections & delivering - flowers, parcels, correspondence, dry goods, pathology specimens, blood products, medical gases to wards and departments.

• Transportation of deceased patients/limbs to Mortuary from wards and departments with dignity and discretion, these can be extremely unsightly and distressing. Completing the relevant documentation, this includes BIDs (Brought In Dead).

The Porter does not need any formal qualifications but a background in care/working in hospitals is advantageous. The Porter must be okay with distressing scenes and be flexible with working hours.
